The perfect spot to watch the sunset

Situated between Signal Hill and the Atlantic Ocean, Sea Point is one of Cape Town’s most affluent and densely populated suburbs. Flanked by Signal Hill and the Atlantic Ocean, and minutes away from the centre of Cape Town, the V&A Waterfront and the CTICC, and on the My Citi bus route, Sea Point is the perfect holiday spot for those wanting a city getaway.

This popular residential area, with a paved walkway along the beachfront is perfect for jogging, cycling and socialising, and has great communal spaces and a beautiful coastline. Filled with many cool hangout spots along the promenade, you’re spoilt for choice with a variety of global cuisines as well as bars, watering holes and shops. Not only popular with tourists, the Sea Point promenade is also a local favourite spot. Awesome play parks for children, gym equipment, and views of both the ocean and mountains, the promenade is one of the area’s most popular drawcards.

Many apartment buildings and houses built in close proximity, and some of Cape Town’s best restaurants and bars, as well as a coastline that is both rocky in places and broad beach with tidal pools, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Sea Point is famous for its outdoor Olympic-sized seawater swimming pool that has served generations of Capetonians since at least the fifties. It has two children’s pools, a diving board and is open every day from 9 am to 5 pm.

Sea Point is also home to Saunder’s Beach tidal pool, a natural sea pool originally named after the Graaf family, who bought a mansion on the beachfront in the early 20th century and adopted as a cruising ground between the ’60s and late nineties.

Sea Point is known for its stunning beachfront apartments, that are a combination of residential and holiday accommodation. The main road cut through Sea Point and boasts loads of shops, eateries, cafes and fast food takeaways. A recent addition in the heart of Sea Point is the 7-day-a-week food and lifestyle market – with live music, sports screenings, 30 different food stalls and an artisan retail offering, home to 4 bars, one of which boasts the widest selection of beverages on tap in the Southern Hemispheres.
